Butane gas has fallen by 7.9 cents per kilo, while diesel has fallen by 3.2 cents per litre and petrol by just 0.6 cents per litre.

The Azorean government justifies the adjustment in the maximum retail price with the “recent variations in the international market for reference prices of petroleum and energy products”.

As of June 1, diesel in the Azores will cost 1.402 euros per litre, 3.2 cents less than in the previous month.

This is the third consecutive drop in the price of diesel, after falling 1.7 cents per litre in April and 5.5 cents in May.

The price of petrol, which had remained the same for three months, fell slightly in June, from €1.580 per litre to €1.574.

The price of butane gas, which began to be updated monthly in January with a new calculation formula, fell 7.9 cents per kilo in June.

In April, it had already fallen 3.3 cents per kilo and in May, 15.2 cents.

The maximum prices of petroleum and energy products in the Azores are "changed on the 1st of each month and in amounts equivalent to the variation in the monthly European Price (PE) value".
