The CEO of Fidelidade, the insurance company for Carris, said that the process of granting compensation to the victims of the Glória elevator accident will take time because the amounts involved have yet to be defined, but guaranteed that "no one will be left without support." "These processes tend to be a little longer. We have already paid expenses for all these victims, so to speak. Expenses for hospital treatments, travel, and for family members," said Rogério Campos Henriques in an interview with Antena 1 and Jornal de Negócios, published this weekend.

According to the manager, this type of process "is typically lengthy because the value of compensation in the case of deaths needs to be very clearly defined."

Rogério Campos Henriques pointed out that arriving at this value requires considering several variables, such as the victim's age, their family situation, any moral damages incurred, or even the identification of heirs, making it a lengthy process.

“It's a process that will take time, but what we assure you is that, regardless of how long this process takes, no one will be left without support,” added the executive, who declined to specify the amount provisioned by the insurer for this case, stating that “it's several million euros.”

The derailment of the Glória elevator, managed by the municipal company Carris, occurred on September 3rd and resulted in 16 deaths and two dozen injuries, including Portuguese and foreign nationals of various nationalities.
