The country has become the first in the world to declare physical mail no longer essential or economically viable, with its postal service delivering more than 90 percent fewer letters since 2000.


PostNord has removed most mailboxes, shifting deliveries to private couriers for remaining letters and parcels, reflecting Danes’ increasing reliance on digital communication, e-commerce, and electronic mailboxes.
