The Friendship Bridge (or Lovers' Bridge) is a picturesque wooden footbridge over the Cojo Canal in the centre of Aveiro. Famous for the thousands of colourful ribbons tied by visitors to symbolise love or friendship, it connects the Aveiro Forum to the Manuel Firmino Market.

Started in 2004 by two students from the University of Aveiro, the tradition replaced the old practice of placing padlocks (which damaged the bridge) with ribbon ties.
