Set between Southeast Asia and Europe, The Red Silk Dress explores themes of identity, longing, and the quiet courage it takes to begin again. The novel follows Claudette, a woman navigating the tension between the life she has built and the self she has slowly set aside, as moments of beauty, memory, and desire begin to stir something she can no longer ignore.
After living in Singapore and Malaysia for twelve years, Natalie moved to Portugal in 2022. The country has played an important role in the completion of the novel. In recent weeks, she has been sharing a series of reflective columns with The Portugal News, exploring place, craft, and creativity in Portugal, alongside short filmed readings from the book.

To mark the opening of the pre-order, Natalie has recorded a short video announcing the book’s availability.
The Red Silk Dress will be published on 14 February and is now available to pre-order online.
