The initiative includes a donation of over €2,000 to four regional associations—PATATIVA, PRAVIDA, AGA CAT CHARITY, and PRAVI—helping improve conditions for rescuing and caring for vulnerable animals. What began more than a decade ago as occasional team-building activities has now grown into a structured annual support programme.

The support comes in the form of both funding and essential items, such as food, bowls, and towels. Visitors and staff also took part this year, adding to the overall effort.

According to Hugo Brites, Marketing and Communications Director at Zoomarine Algarve, continuing this support is about recognising the everyday efforts these organisations make to help animals in need. He says animal welfare should be a shared responsibility, and that even small but consistent actions can make a real difference over time.

These associations have long been at the frontline of rescuing and caring for vulnerable animals across the Algarve, often with limited resources. Support like this helps them keep going and continue their work.

Rather than a one-off initiative, this reflects Zoomarine’s ongoing commitment to animal welfare and encourages the wider community to get involved and support local causes in practical ways.
