Benfica wins the Portuguese Women's Cup

On 19 May, Benfica won the Portuguese Cup for the third time, defeating FC Porto 2-0 in the final played at the National Stadium in Oeiras, in the first-ever classic match in women's football.

Danish player Caroline Moller scored the goals for the six-time national champions against the 'blue and whites' in the fourth and forty minutes. Porto will play in the top division next season after winning the second division.

Benfica won its third Women's Cup, following triumphs in 2018/19 and 2022/23, equaling rivals Sporting, both behind the record holder 1º Dezembro, with seven wins.
