According to ExecutiveDigest, the acquisition involves the purchase of an entire portfolio of assets from the office supplies and stationery retailer, which includes establishments located in several cities, such as Lisbon, Cascais, Setúbal, Lagoa, Torres Vedras, Caldas da Rainha, Barcelos, Penafiel, Viana do Castelo, Vila do Conde and Santarém.

The purchase comes at a time when Portugal continues to stand out as one of the best-performing countries for Fnac Darty. In Portugal, in the first three months of the year, the group's revenue grew 7.4% to €112.1 million. Of the brand's total revenue (€10.3 billion), Portugal contributed €539 million.

Staples Portugal was acquired by Firmo in 2021, and more than 3 dozen stores remain in the country. Firmo has announced an €8 million investment plan to expand its retail network.
