Algarve village to be painted black and white again

In a press release sent by the municipality, Lagoa City Hall announces Carvoeiro Noite Black & White 2026, which returns to the fishing village on 20 June, with celebrations starting at 8:30 pm.

On this day, the streets of Carvoeiro are painted black and white by the visitors' clothes, as a party takes place throughout the town, including on the beach.

According to the press release, the event will be free to enter, and public transport will be provided by the municipality, “between the support car parks and the centre of Carvoeiro, the event invites residents and visitors to celebrate the beginning of summer on a memorable night by the sea.”

Among the invited artists will be “the Mexicans Mariachi Mezcal, the Brazilian singer Lidia Brandão, the Portuguese Six Irish Men and the national DJs Francisco Gil, Pedro Carrilho and Christian F, who promise to infect the public with rhythms that span decades — from the classics of the 70s, 80s and 90s to the biggest hits of current dance music.”
