At 5am, Faro Airport is already beginning to stir as the Algarve’s summer season gathers momentum.
With warmer weather drawing increasing numbers of visitors to the region, passenger volumes are steadily rising, but the early-morning atmosphere remains notably calm and organised.
A growing number of e-gates are now operational, helping to streamline arrivals and departures and reduce pressure on border control.
While peak travel days can still bring occasional queues, the airport appears well prepared for the busy months ahead, offering a smoother experience for travellers heading to and from one of Portugal’s most popular holiday destinations.
