Before crossing the border, the orchestra will perform three concerts in the Algarve.

This tour opens on 24 July at 9pm as part of the inaugural Olhão South Jazz Festival in Parque Ribeirinho de Olhão, overlooking the Ria Formosa. The following day, 25 July, the ensemble will appear at the historic Forte do Beliche in Sagres during the Beliche Jazz Festival, which has already sold out, reflecting strong public interest in the production.

A final Algarve performance will take place on 26 July at 9.30pm in Parque Industrial da Feiteirinha, as part of the Teatro da Palha programme organised by cultural cooperative Lavrar o Mar, and limited tickets remain available through BOL.

The tour concludes on 27 July with a free open-air performance in Plaza de la Laguna, Ayamonte, Spain, beginning at 9.30pm local time. This concert has been organised at the invitation of the Ayamonte Traders’ Association, in partnership with the Ayuntamiento de Ayamonte, and aims to reinforce cultural ties between Portugal and Spain while expanding the orchestra’s international presence.

Latin inspired

Caribre Libre features a repertoire inspired by Latin jazz, salsa, bolero and Afro-Cuban music, combining the improvisational style of jazz with the vibrant sounds of the Caribbean.

This production includes special guest appearances from Cuban vocalist Raul Reyes and percussionist Osvaldo Pegudo, who join the orchestra’s 17 musicians for a performance designed to celebrate the diversity and energy of Latin music.

According to the organisers, the series of concerts offers audiences across different locations the opportunity to experience a lively summer production centred on rhythm, celebration and cultural exchange.
