The 45th edition of the fair came to an end on Sunday, 30 August, following ten days of concerts, exhibitions, gastronomy, agriculture, crafts and entertainment.

Lagoa Council confirmed that visitor numbers passed the 200,000 mark, maintaining the event's position as one of the biggest summer events in the Algarve.

This year's FATACIL was also marked by some unusual weather for August, with periods of rain affecting several days of the event. Despite this, the organisers reported strong attendance throughout the fair.

The event once again brought together a wide range of areas, including agriculture, tourism, crafts, commerce, industry, gastronomy, culture and sport.

Music was also a major part of the programme, with performances taking place across the main stage and four smaller stages throughout the grounds.


Tony Carreira opened the programme on the first weekend, while other artists appearing during this year's edition included Vizinhos, Plutónio, Sara Correia, Quim Barreiros, Richie Campbell and Nininho Vaz Maia. Os Quatro e Meia brought the main stage programme to a close on Sunday night.

Visitors could also find street entertainment, equestrian activities, food areas and numerous exhibition spaces across the site.

Lagoa Mayor Luís Encarnação described the overall result of this year's event as "very positive".

While welcoming the fact that attendance exceeded 200,000, he said the success of FATACIL should not be measured only by the number of visitors.

He highlighted the variety of the programme, the work of exhibitors and the overall experience offered to visitors as equally important parts of the event.

The mayor also pointed to the unusual weather conditions experienced this year, saying that in his eleven years of involvement in organising the fair, he had never experienced similar conditions during August.

Despite the rain, he said FATACIL maintained its ability to attract visitors and stressed the importance of continuing to introduce new ideas while keeping the character of the long-running event.

FATACIL will return to Lagoa next summer, with the 46th edition already confirmed to take place from 20 to 29 August 2027.
