The latest monitoring showed that bathing water at Lagoa's beaches continues to be rated as excellent, just in time for the busiest weeks of the summer season.

Among the beaches highlighted is Praia do Carvoeiro, one of Lagoa's best-known seaside destinations and an iconic image of the Algarve. The municipality says its excellent water quality continues to enhance the appeal of the beach, which welcomes thousands of visitors each year.

Bathing water quality is assessed through regular sampling carried out during the bathing season. The tests analyse microbiological indicators that help determine whether the water is safe for swimmers. Beaches receiving an "excellent" classification have consistently met the highest quality standards over several bathing seasons.

The municipality added that protecting the coastline and preserving natural resources remain priorities, with regular monitoring playing an important role in maintaining the quality of Lagoa's beaches.

The latest results reinforce Lagoa's reputation as one of the Algarve's leading coastal destinations, with clean and safe bathing waters available for residents and visitors alike.
