According to a spokesperson for the Viseu Dão Lafões Sub-regional Command of the National Emergency and Civil Protection Authority (ANEPC), the fire was declared under control shortly before 5:00 am.

In turn, the fire that broke out on 20 September in the municipality of Miranda do Corvo, in the district of Coimbra, is under control and in the mopping-up phase, an official source from Civil Protection told Lusa.

According to the commander of the Coimbra Region Sub-regional Command of Civil Protection, Carlos Tavares, at 10:30 pm the fire was under control and in the mopping-up phase, with 183 personnel on the ground and 52 vehicles supporting the operation.

The alert for this forest fire in Semide, in the municipality of Miranda do Corvo, was given at 7:16 pm.

The fires in Tábua and Arganil, also in the central region, are under control and surveillance in the coming hours, mobilising a total of 355 personnel and 121 vehicles, according to the same source.
