Lusoponte says the Vasco da Gama Bridge, which connects the districts of Lisbon and Setúbal, will have restricted traffic on 11 October because of two marathons. Two lanes, one in each direction, will be restricted.

In a press release, Lusoponte, which operates both the Vasco da Gama Bridge and the 25 de Abril Bridge, says road traffic will be affected between midnight and 2 pm, which may lead to congestion. Even so, the bridge management company says that traffic will continue to circulate on the infrastructure.

Plan trips

In the same statement, Lusoponte says that "congestion may occur in both directions, so Lusoponte recommends that drivers plan their trips in advance, expect a possible increase in travel time, and check the traffic conditions through the cameras available on the company’s website."

The Hyundai Half Marathon is scheduled to start at 9:20 am from the Vasco da Gama Bridge, on a route that will end at Praça do Comércio, in Lisbon, and will have the participation of more than 15,000 participants.
