This is one of the figures included in the municipal company’s 1st Sustainability Report, which was presented during the second part of the H2O & Sustainability Summit 2026, held at Dano’s restaurant in Quinta do Lago on 15 October.
Another notable indicator relates to the fact that, in 2025, 86% of green public spaces were irrigated using 25% reclaimed water. Equally noteworthy is the rate of selectively collected waste, which reached 50% last year, with the goal of hitting 60% by 2030.

Covering the 2022–2025 period, this report "represents an opportunity to revisit the journey taken, recognise the work and commitment of all employees, partners, and entities with whom we have collaborated over the years, and reflect on the challenges that lie ahead," explained Pedro Pimpão, Chairman of Infraquinta's Board of Directors.
The preparation of this document takes on an even more special meaning in a year when the company marks three decades of activity with a series of initiatives.

Telmo Pinto, Mayor of Loulé, praised Infraquinta’s "excellent results", particularly regarding water resources and waste management. In the mayor's view, the work accomplished reflects "the municipality's commitment to creating an increasingly high-quality territory."
Attendees at the second part of the H2O & Sustainability Summit 2026 also had the opportunity to discover various solutions for more sustainable management, as well as new projects in this area.

Following the project presentations, attendees were invited to vote on the project they considered most innovative. The winner was a device named "savearth," whose developers were recognised by with the presentation of a trophy.
This device was designed for hotels that can install it in any shower. Using artificial intelligence and sound recognition, it accurately measures water and energy consumption in real time, issuing alerts to guests when it detects excessive use.

The H2O & Sustainability Summit 2026 event, part of the H2O & Innovation Hub, was organised by Premivalor - Consulting. According to Telmo Vieira, one of its managing partners, this partnership with Infraquinta represents a major asset for what they aim to achieve at the Hub: "bringing together a group of entities that care about, study, and work on water and circular economy issues."
