The 3rd edition of Faro Nautical Week, organised by the Municipality of Faro in coordination with the Faro Nautical Station, will take place from 26 May to 1 June.
This growing regional event highlights Faro’s nautical assets, encourages sustainable tourism, and engages the community through educational and recreational experiences.
With varied and inclusive programmes, supported by the local public and private partners, the event showcases the area’s offerings and fosters direct contact with the Ria Formosa and the region’s natural heritage.
Throughout the week, there will be a wide range of free or specially priced activities for all ages – families, children, young people, seniors, residents, and tourists. Visitors can enjoy boat tours, canoeing, sailing, stand-up paddleboarding, windsurfing, surfing, and kitesurfing, offering sun, learning, and nature exploration.
The programme also includes environmental awareness activities, guided tours, museum visits, food experiences, and themed exhibitions, connecting tourism, culture, and sustainability.
The event also focuses on education and social inclusion, involving schools, local organisations, and community groups, with special initiatives for students and seniors to ensure access and participation across all age groups.
The Faro Nautical Station brings together over 60 partners to deliver a high/quality, integrated range of nautical services and experiences, based on the region’s natural and cultural resources. This initiative is part of Faro’s strategy to position nautical tourism as a key pillar of local development, combining nature, sport, culture, and education.
