Given the forecast of only 1.5% growth in passenger numbers at national airports next year, ANA – Aeroportos plans to increase fees by almost 3.9% in 2026 at Porto and Faro airports, reports Jornal de Negócios.

At Lisbon Airport, to reach the authorized Maximum Average Regulated Revenue (MMRR), a five-cent (0.30%) increase per passenger is proposed. However, given the model defined in the concession contract, there will be an adjustment that will translate into a 4.65% reduction compared to 2025, corresponding to 76 cents per passenger.

While regulated fees at Sá Carneiro and Faro Airports can only vary according to the Harmonized Consumer Price Index (HICP), as determined by the National Civil Aviation Authority (ANAC), and adjustments for estimation errors are also no longer allowed, the decrease at Humberto Delgado Airport is due to the correction of estimation errors from previous years, which is included in the concession contract. Although the islands are also part of the Lisbon group of airports, neither Madeira nor the Azores will see an increase in regulated fees, explains Jornal de Negócios.

Regarding traffic projections contained in the proposal to update regulated rates for 2026, which ANA has already presented to airlines but still awaits approval by ANAC, the Vinci group company projects reaching 35.7 million passengers next year in Lisbon, 1.1% more than the 35.4 million it estimated for the end of 2025. In Porto, the concessionaire forecasts 2.1% growth this year, to 16.3 million passengers, while in 2026 it estimates reaching 16.6 million, a 1.9% increase. In Faro, it anticipates growth of 2.3% this year and 1.7% next year, for a total of 10.2 million passengers.
