Whiskey was raised, haggis addressed, and guests were enjoying traditional Scottish fare prepared by Danny Vilela.

In partnership with Nobel Algarve British International School, the evening honoured Scotland’s national poet, Robert Burns, through poetry, music, and a three-course feast. Fiddle music welcomed guests before the Selkirk Grace opened the night.

A ceremonial haggis procession led by Deputy Head of School Scott Pryde followed, bringing the Burns’ address to life with proper Scottish flair. The traditional Toasts to the Lassies and Laddies added humour and wit, punctuated by readings of Burns’ work.

For one night, the Algarve channelled the Highlands in celebrating Scottish culture and community. The evening closed, as tradition dictates, with an enthusiastic rendition of “Auld Lang Syne.”
