This week, Lazarim, in the Lamego Municipality, celebrated the 2026 Carnival in style.

Considered one of the most traditional Carnivals in Portugal, Lazarim is certainly a place to visit for this annual event.

The tradition is characterised by the Caretos, a colourful parade, and satirical testaments, in a licentiousness coming from times when everything was lived in clandestinity, confronting the institutional and religious authority in force.
