Torreense won the Portuguese Cup for the first time in the club’s history yesterday, 25 May, and in statements to Canal 11, André Sabino revealed that the club has licensed the Algarve Stadium for European competitions. This statement comes a day after their 2-1 victory against Sporting in the final of the 86th edition of the Portuguese Cup.
Stadium selection
It has not yet been specified where the team will play if they get promoted to the First League: “Whatever happens, we will play, and we will enjoy ourselves. The stadium we licensed was the one in the Algarve, due to its capacity. We can make a change; it was the simplest thing to do at the time, but our intention is to play as close as possible to Torres Vedras. If we get promoted, we won't play in Torres Vedras either,” André Sabino stated.
Promotion to the I Liga
As reported by Postal, Torreense, third-placed in the 2025/26 edition of the II Liga, will face Casa Pia, 16th and second-to-last in the top division, on Thursday, 28 May, at 8 pm, in the second leg of the play-off for promotion to the I Liga, in Rio Maior, after a 0-0 draw in Torres Vedras.
