In statements to Lusa on the sidelines of the press conference to announce the Caixa Ribeiro 2026 festival, which returns ten years after the last edition, the head of the promoter Música no Coração said he believes that the festival in Zambujeira do Mar, in the municipality of Odemira, will return in the year it celebrates 30 years of existence.

"It's a festival that will be 30 years old in 2027. It's in my heart forever. Therefore, it marked my life and the lives of many people who have been there throughout all these editions. And I want to believe that I will succeed," declared Luís Montez, adding that Música no Coração is looking for "support, sponsors, because it is a festival of great investment."

This is the second consecutive year that the Sudoeste Festival has not taken place, and the promoter lamented last February the competition in the market and the lack of incentives for companies to invest in their brands at festivals.

In 2027, the Sudoeste Festival will celebrate 30 years since its founding as an open-air music event at Herdade da Casa Branca, near the village of Zambujeira do Mar, in the municipality of Odemira, district of Beja.

Música no Coração announced on social media in February 2025 that it would be taking a break from the Sudoeste Festival to "prepare a new chapter."

In 2024, the festival had already adopted a "new identity," without the name of the sponsor, MEO, which had been associated with its name for almost two decades.

That year, the 26th edition, Sudoeste featured artists such as Da Weasel, Anitta, Martin Garrix, Bárbara Bandeira, and Richie Campbell.

Despite not participating in the Sudoeste Festival this year, Música no Coração will be produced by the Sumol Summer Fest festival in July on the Costa de Caparica, the Jardins do Marquês festival in June and July in Oeiras, the Caixa Alfama festival in September in Lisbon, and the Caixa Ribeira festival on 18 July in Porto, in addition to other concerts in venues.
