Carney will meet with European leaders to discuss trade, investment, security and emerging technologies. It will be Carney’s first official visit to Ireland as prime minister and the first by a Canadian leader in nearly a decade.

During his visit, Carney will meet Irish Taoiseach Micheál Martin and President Catherine Connolly, while also travelling to County Mayo, where his family has ancestral roots. Canadian officials said the trip aims to deepen cooperation in areas including agri-food, artificial intelligence, pharmaceuticals and climate, while reinforcing long-standing economic and cultural ties between Canada and Ireland.
