The tournament, one of the most prestigious events on the International Padel Federation calendar, has attracted a strong field featuring many of the sport’s highest-ranked players. Competitors will battle for valuable ranking points, with 300 points awarded to the winners in both the men’s and women’s competitions.

The main draw runs from 17 to 21 June, culminating with the finals on Sunday.

In the men’s competition, several leading pairs enter the tournament among the favourites. Top-seeded teams, including José Jiménez and Javi García, Aimar Goñi and Edu Alonso, and Juan Tello and Maxi Arce, have received direct passage into the round of 16.

Other contenders expected to challenge for the title include Iñigo Jofre and Jairo Bautista, Alex Arroyo and Javi Martinez, and the pairing of Tino Libaak and Alex Chozas.

The women’s draw is equally competitive, led by top seeds Veronica Virseda and Marina Guinart, who arrive in Portugal following their recent triumph at the FIP Platinum event in Albania.

They are joined by several other highly ranked partnerships, including Jessica Castelló and Lorena Rufo, Carmen Goenaga and Beatriz Caldera, and Victoria Iglesias and Aranzazu Osoro, who claimed victory at a FIP Gold event earlier this year.

Several opening-round matches are already generating interest among fans, including encounters featuring Carolina Orsi and Patty Llaguno, as well as former FIP Platinum champion Lucia Sainz.

The event reinforces Portugal’s growing status within the international padel circuit, with Paredes once again welcoming some of the sport’s leading players and attracting attention from fans across Europe and beyond.

As padel continues its rapid global growth, the Lusitania Masters provides Portuguese audiences with an opportunity to watch many of the world’s top athletes compete on home soil.
