To mark the occasion, the farm is hosting a celebration on 19 June, inviting visitors to admire the latest bloom and discover some of the products produced on-site. The event, which runs from 3 pm to 9 pm, will also showcase local cow's cheese and wines from the Vinhos Verdes region of Barcelos.
Located near Praia da Arda in Afife, the sunflower field has become a favourite destination for visitors in recent years, attracting people from across the country eager to photograph the vibrant yellow flowers.
Those unable to attend the opening event will still have plenty of time to visit. The sunflower field is expected to remain in bloom until the end of June, with free entry and no advance booking required.
The plantation was originally created to produce oil-rich feed for the farm's cattle, but over the years it has evolved into one of the area's best-known seasonal attractions.
Quinta da Pegadinha has also announced plans for additional sunflower fields during July and August, with locations to be revealed in the coming weeks.
