"For 11 days, Cantanhede will be the stage for the largest fair-festival in the country. This event is a powerful instrument for territorial promotion, economic development and the affirmation of the municipality's identity," stated the Mayor, Helena Teodósio.

The 34th Expofacic – Cantanhede Agricultural, Commercial and Industrial Exhibition/Fair, in the district of Coimbra, starts on 30 July. It runs until 9 August at the São Mateus Expo-Sports Park.

During the press conference presenting the event, held late this afternoon in the Cloisters of the Town Hall, the mayor highlighted the program. She stressed that it was "once again designed to meet the expectations of different generations."

"But Expofacic is much more than its main stage. It is a fair opportunity for companies and a privileged location for promoting products and services. Expofacic is a showcase of the territory's productive capacities and a meeting point for professionals and investors. It is also a space for innovation and for celebrating local traditions and identity," she added.

According to Helena Teodósio, this year's edition focuses on improving the different aspects, enhancing visitor reception conditions, and modernising infrastructure.

The Fair also aims to implement solutions that promote more comfortable, safer, and sustainable experiences.

With 45 days to go before the start of the event, the chairman of the board of directors of the municipal company INOVA, Pedro Cardoso, highlighted the importance of the “largest fair-festival in the country,” whose “return, direct and indirect economic effects, justify the large investment by the Municipality.”

“In the commercial and industrial sector, we will have 450 spaces, the automotive sector with 33 spaces, the agricultural sector with 60 spaces, the national and international crafts sector with 110 spaces, and also 10 spaces in the open areas. We are talking about more than 600 spaces, which make Expofacic the largest open-air shopping centre in the Iberian Peninsula,” he argued.

The venue will also feature around 50 food stalls and restaurants, 25 spaces for regional products, and 12 street food areas.

The 2026 edition will feature more than 200 concerts and entertainment activities, distributed across seven themed stages.

On stage will be Bárbara Tinoco and Vizinhos (30 July); Sara Correia, Nininho Vaz Maia (31 July); Deixe o Pimba em Paz, Mundo Segundo, Slow J (1 August ); José Cid, Hybrid Theory (2 August); Squeeze Theeze Pleeze, Delfins (3 August); João Pedro Pais, Diogo Piçarra (4 August); Átoa, Xutos & Pontapés (5 August), João Só, Calema (6 August), Maiara & Maraisa, Sertabeijo (7 August); Livinho, M80 Party (8 August), Nuno Bastos and Turma do Pagode (9 August), among others.

According to Pedro Cardoso, the Street Gaming area will return, reinforced, with twice as many gaming stations, simulators, and free activities, while the Expofacic Kids zone will grow and offer new experiences for younger children.
