The official flag-raising ceremony took place this week, marking the start of the summer season and reaffirming the municipality’s commitment to maintaining clean, safe and sustainable coastal areas.
The Blue Flag now flies proudly at Praia Grande, Praia dos Caneiros, Praia do Carvoeiro, Praia de Vale Centeanes, Praia da Senhora da Rocha, and Praia de Vale do Olival.
According to the Lagoa Municipality, Praia do Carvoeiro has once again been recognised as an Accessible Beach for All, highlighting the facilities available for visitors with reduced mobility.
The distinction is awarded annually by the Foundation for Environmental Education and is considered one of the most respected environmental certifications for beaches worldwide.
With six Blue Flag beaches along its coastline, Lagoa continues to strengthen its reputation as one of the Algarve’s leading seaside destinations, offering both residents and visitors high-quality beach experiences while promoting environmental responsibility.
