The event, widely regarded as Portugal’s final major summer festival, will once again transform Faro’s Vila Adentro into a cultural hub, with concerts, exhibitions, performance art, talks, family activities and artisan markets spread across streets, squares and historic landmarks.

This year’s programme displays the diversity of contemporary Portuguese music, spanning pop, hip hop, rock, electronic music, jazz and fado, while reinforcing cultural ties across the Portuguese-speaking world.

Among the headline names are Slow J, Carminho performing with the Algarve Orchestra, Bárbara Tinoco, Wet Bed Gang, The Gift, Clã, Moonspell, HMB, Branko, D.A.M.A., Papillon, Chico da Tina, ÁTOA, Maninho, Mind da Gap, Danni Gato and Nelson Freitas.

According to organisers, the festival is maintaining its commitment to showcasing new talent with performances throughout the city by artists such as PAUS, Irina Barros, Bizarra Locomotiva, Aragão, Camaleão Azul, Peculiar, Joana Almeirante, Diana Vilarinho, Afonso Rodrigues, Jasmin, Elisa, Rafael Toral, Rita Cortezão, Peixe and Ana Tereza.

One of the main focuses of the event remains regional music, with around 30 percent of the programme dedicated to Algarve-based artists, reflecting the strength and quality of the region’s music scene rather than any quota system.

In addition, several changes have been introduced for the 2026 edition, as the Fábrica Stage returns to the festival after an absence, providing another platform for emerging performers, while the Castelo Stage has been reimagined as the venue for the festival’s Silent Party.

The concerts and activities will be hosted throughout eight locations within Vila Adentro, including the Ria, Sé, Quintalão, Fábrica, Museu, Músicos and Arco stages, as well as the Silent Party at Castelo.

Cultural heritage

Since its launch, Festival F has expanded from an event covering 5,000 square metres to one occupying around 38,500 square metres across Faro’s old town.

Over the course of its first ten editions, it has staged more than 560 concerts and welcomed approximately 350,000 visitors, cementing its reputation as one of Portugal’s leading cultural festivals.

Furthermore, the event encourages visitors to explore Faro’s historic centre, where medieval streets, city walls and heritage buildings provide a distinctive backdrop. The nearby Ria Formosa lagoon, recognised as one of Portugal’s Seven Natural Wonders and an important European biodiversity reserve, also enhances the guest experience.

Organised by Faro City Council, Ambifaro and Teatro das Figuras, Festival F aims to promote artistic creation, support rising musicians and contribute to the cultural and social development of Faro, the Algarve and Portugal.

Tickets are on sale now, with early-bird prices available until 31 July, subject to availability, while daily tickets cost €20 and three-day passes €45.

From 1 August, day tickets will increase to €22, while the full festival pass will be priced at €54. Children aged between three and 12 can attend free of charge when accompanied by an adult.
