As part of a market surveillance action and following an analysis of the available information, the National Authority of Medicines and Health Products (Infarmed) concluded that the product "Perfect Skin 50 FPS Protetor Solar," from the company ACBB Nails, Import & Export, does not comply with legal standards.

"[The product] is non-compliant, as it was placed on the national market without prior assurance of adherence to current legal standards; specifically, discrepancies were found between the laboratory-determined Sun Protection Factor (SPF) and the value stated on the product label, along with a lack of substantiation for UVA protection," Infarmed stated in an information circular published on its website.

Furthermore, the claim "acts 100% against sun rays" was found to violate criteria regarding truthfulness, honesty, and informed decision-making; consequently, the product fails to meet the legal requirements set out in Commission Regulation (EU) No. 655/2013 of July 10, the authority added.

Following this inspection, Infarmed ordered the immediate suspension of sales and the withdrawal of the product from the national market, and urges any entities holding this sunscreen not to make it available or use it.
