In a statement, the Lisbon Metropolitan Command of the Public Security Police (PSP) announced that a special operation has been set up to accompany the cycling caravan, imposing parking restrictions and changes to traffic flow.
In the capital, restrictions began with the suspension of parking at Largo/Praça do Império and Parque dos Pinheiros; closures are expected on Avenida da Índia, specifically a total shutdown of the relevant section throughout 5 August.
In the Sintra municipality, disruptions are concentrated in the Queluz area, where parking lots at the National Palace and the Anti-Aircraft Artillery Regiment No. 1 remain closed until the night of 6 August; Avenida Engenheiro Duarte Pacheco is also closed, and traffic is restricted at Praça D. Pedro IV.
The caravan’s passage on 6 August will also trigger temporary traffic closures as cyclists pass along routes such as Avenida Almirante Gago Coutinho, Avenida Marginal, Estrada do Algueirão, and National Road 250 (EN250), with the stage concluding near the Queluz Palace. The PSP urges the public to plan their journeys and use alternative routes, assuring that traffic will be restored gradually after the race passes.
