Ovar City Hall, located in the Aveiro district, now confirms that “quality and safety conditions have been restored” for beachgoers at this site, which lies in the transition zone between the sea and the Aveiro Lagoon.

“The lifting of the ban was ordered by the Portuguese Environment Agency, through the Central Hydrographic Region Administration, following the results of analyses performed on Areínho’s bathing water on 20 July and 27 and 3 August,” a municipal source stated, adding that the tests “confirmed the restoration of conditions suitable for swimming.”

The municipality further stated that it “will continue to monitor the quality of the area’s bathing waters,” aiming to ensure “the necessary protection of the health and safety” of the public through this ongoing monitoring.
