Dils’ renovated shop in Vilamoura brings together around 12 professionals, with expertise spanning from Vilamoura and Quinta do Lago to Tavira and Lagos. The company also works closely with developers bringing new projects to the Algarve.

“The Algarve residential market is very dynamic,” explained Patrícia Barão, Partner and Head of Residential at Dils Portugal, highlighting the importance of a specialised team familiar with new developments.

Relationships beyond real estate

“We want them to come to our shop and see our atmosphere and see what drives our business,” said Barão.

Alongside meeting rooms and working spaces, the shop in Vilamoura has an Italian touch: a bar where conversations can take place over a cappuccino or glass of wine. “It’s a kind of diPerent way to meet, because we strongly believe that real estate is all about relationships,” she explained. Dils seeks to understand the motivation behind a purchase, whether someone is investing, relocating or looking for a second home. Operating within the middle-high and high-end market, its Algarve team might help a client searching for a small farm with a vegetable garden one day and a client driving a Ferrari the next. “The Algarve, you can say, is like a small country, because there is so much diversity,” said Barão. “The Algarve is the only shop where the majority of our clients are international.” Those clients include British, Irish, Dutch, German, Spanish and Brazilian buyers, alongside clients from the Middle East.

A one-stop shop

Dils’ service can extend beyond finding a property, with consultants helping clients with needs ranging from neighbourhoods and schools to renting their property later. “We can say that Dils is a one-stop shop for international buyers,” said Barão. “We love real estate, we love selling houses. It’s our job. I love it. I just love helping families to find a home or someone to do a good investment. I love to do that. And I do that with all my heart.” For Barão, clients may be making one of the largest investments of their lives. “You have to be very, very honest and very focused and try to understand the real motivation of that purchase in order to advise the best way.”

Growing with purpose

Headquartered in Milan, Dils entered Portugal through its 2024 acquisition of Castelhana and has locations in Lisbon, Cascais, Comporta, Porto and the Algarve. Its European expansion continued with the acquisition of Lucas Fox in Spain in 2026. For Barão, however, growth is also about talented professionals, happy teams and satisfied clients. “I have a very good feeling about our future. Luck is not enough; you really need to work hard,” she said. “So I think growing is having the most talented people working at Dils, and to get more happy clients.”
