The annual fair will once again take over Avenida da República and Praça Marquês de Pombal, bringing stalls and entertainment to the centre of the Algarve town.
According to the Vila Real de Santo António Council, visitors will find a wide range of products, from clothing and footwear to household items, handicrafts and regional produce.
Traditional flavours
Food is also a big part of the event, with traditional flavours and local products available throughout the six days.
The Feira da Praia has a long connection with Vila Real de Santo António. The event dates back to the 18th century and was originally linked to the town's fishing activity and the arrival of traders and visitors to the area.
Over the years, it has developed into one of the municipality's traditional annual events, while maintaining its role as a meeting point for local residents, visitors and traders.
Local businesses
This year's dates also include 12 October, a public holiday in neighbouring Spain. With Vila Real de Santo António sitting just across the Guadiana River from Ayamonte, the fair traditionally attracts many Spanish visitors during this period.
The municipality expects thousands of visitors over the six days, providing an additional boost to local shops, restaurants and businesses.
The fair will be open daily from 9am to midnight, giving visitors plenty of time to explore the stalls and the historic centre of Vila Real de Santo António.
The 2026 Feira da Praia runs from Thursday, 8 October until Tuesday, 13 October.
