This time, we came on a Saturday morning, and it was lovely to see the town at a different time of day.

People were having breakfast at local cafés and restaurants, drinking coffee outside or taking a walk through the little streets. Some were already heading towards the beach, while others were browsing the shops or stopping at a pastelaria for something sweet.

I like visiting places in the morning, when you can have a proper look around and notice things you might walk straight past during a busy evening. In Alvor, that means little shopfronts, whitewashed buildings and streets that invite you to wander a bit further.

You can make your way down towards the harbour, watch the boats on the water and then head back into the centre for a coffee. There is no need to plan much; it is just a nice place to spend a few hours.
