According to a notice published in the Diário da República (the official gazette), the project has a base value of 3.5 million euros and an execution period of 240 days (eight months). It focuses on the construction work for what is known as “Branch C” of the Paranhos interchange.
The project entails “the widening of Branch C (in the direction of Ponte do Freixo – Paranhos), the construction of a new branch (in the direction of Porto city centre – Paranhos), and the rehabilitation of Branch D (Paranhos – Ponte da Arrábida), Branch H (Porto city centre – Ponte da Arrábida), and Branch G (Ponte da Arrábida – Porto city centre).”
Meanwhile, “Branch I”—which runs from Ponte do Freixo toward Paranhos and connects to Rua da Igreja de Paranhos—will be removed.
The intervention will include “an improved alignment for Branch C (Ponte do Freixo – Paranhos direction), specifically widening it to accommodate two lanes,” as well as the construction of a new branch over the motorway (Porto city centre – Paranhos direction). This new branch will connect the existing VCI access to Rua Stephen R. Stoer in Asprela, providing a continuous road link between these two parts of the city.
Interested bidders may submit their proposals until 19 November.
