On the official website of concessionaire Porto Santo Line, the company states that sailings on both days have been cancelled “due to the forecast adverse weather conditions in the Madeira archipelago, which could compromise the safety of passengers and the vessel”.

According to the Portuguese Institute for the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA), Madeira's southern coast and mountainous regions are under a yellow weather warning for “showers, sometimes heavy and accompanied by thunderstorms” between midnight and 9 am.
