According to the District Relief Operations Command (CDOS) of Portalegre, the alert was sent to the fire brigade at 16:21.

Currently there are 102 firefighters, aided by 28 vehicles, two medium-sized planes and a light helicopter involved in the operation.

The same source indicated that the fire, which is affecting an area of pasture and cork oak forests, has an active front.
