In terms of service provision, the ongoing work on the new Railway Signalling System and the Circular Line expansion project forced a decrease in supply, which impacted demand.

“There were closures of sections and stations on the Green and Yellow lines during the period from August 3 to 19, and the constraints associated with the development of these investments meant that demand values were no longer significant. In the last two months of the year, there were three partial strikes that impacted the service and consequently the demand values: the strikes of November 6, November 14 and December 3 began with the opening of the operation and lasted until 10:00”, it is mentioned.

According to the data in the report, in 2024 the average fleet availability during the morning peak hour on a weekday recorded 95.3 trains available for public service, for a maximum daily need of 91 trains, representing an increase of 3% compared to the same period last year.

In terms of main infrastructure and following the change in the signalling system (CBTC), “lower technical performance levels were recorded than in 2023”.

In some months, monthly downtime exceeded the established maximum value of four hours accumulated per month across the entire network, with the average value over the year being 3.44 hours.

In terms of the reliability of the main infrastructure, an average value of 96 hours between failures was also recorded, below the quality objectives defined for these infrastructures.
