In a notice published on its website, the transport company reiterated that "due to a strike called by the unions ASCEF, FECTRANS/SNTSF, FENTCOP, SINAFE, SINDEFER, SINFA, SINFB, SINTTI, SIOFA, SNAQ, STF and STMEFE, for December 11, disruptions to train circulation are expected, with possible impacts also on the previous day [today] and the following day."

The operator also pointed out that minimum services have been defined for circulation, which can be consulted on its website, for Alfa Pendular and Intercidades trains, Regional, InterRegional and International trains, and the Porto, Coimbra and Lisbon Urban trains.

The carrier also informed that "for customers who already have tickets purchased to travel on Alfa Pendular, Intercidades, International, InterRegional and Regional trains, CP will allow a full refund of the ticket price, or a free exchange for another train of the same category and class".

According to CP, refunds or exchanges can be made in "myCP in the 'Your Tickets' area (for tickets purchased online and via the CP app) up to 15 minutes before the train departs from the customer's station of origin, or at ticket offices".

If this deadline is exceeded, and up to 10 days after the end of the strike, “a refund can be requested by filling out the online contact form ‘Refund for Delay or Cancellation’”, sending a scanned copy of the original ticket.

Thursday's general strike against the government's draft reform of labour legislation will be the first strike to bring together the two main trade union confederations, CGTP and UGT, since June 2013, when Portugal was under the intervention of the 'troika'.
