Avenida dos Aliados shines bright at night. This big avenue feels like the heart of Porto. When the sun goes down, it gains new life, being filled with new colours, and the lights make everything glow.

Blue is the main colour, as it’s Porto’s official colour. You can see it on buses, in official buildings, and even on the metro. They light up the wide street in a soft way. Other colours mix in too, like the white from the façades of the majestic old building along the avenue.

It started in 1916 after the demolition of old streets and alleys. The Avenue was named to remember the Allies who won World War I, alongside Portugal.

Avenida dos Aliados is full of history, and at night it becomes even more mystical. Its blue lights make Porto feel unique and welcoming.
