“Passiflora” is a vibrant street art mural in Porto created by the Brazilian artist Giulia Yoshimura, known as Mura. The work was part of Porto’s “Programa de Arte Urbana” (Urban Art Programme) organised by Ágora Porto and the city council, and it is located on the Escadaria do Monte do Tadeu and along Rua do Monte do Tadeu 106.

Mura moved from São Paulo to Porto in 2021 to study a Master’s in Fine Arts at the University of Porto, and she had been working with graffiti and urban art since 2018. “Passiflora” was her first major mural in the city. It is inspired by the passion flower (Passiflora, the flower of the passion fruit). In Portugal, the passion fruit is small and purple, while in Brazil it is larger and yellow, so Mura uses this contrast to represent the similarities and differences between her home country and her new home.
