One of the Algarve’s Most Beautiful Walks

Ever since I moved to the Algarve, the wooden boardwalk stretching between Salgados Beach and Galé has become one of my favourite places to spend time. Salgados Beach is especially meaningful to me because it’s where we had our wedding ceremony, so every walk here brings back beautiful memories.

Today, it’s possible to walk, run, or cycle from Armação de Pêra all the way to Albufeira along this scenic coastal route. In many parts of the Algarve, pavements can be uneven, narrow, or blocked by parked cars, which often makes walking frustrating. This boardwalk offers a completely different experience — safe, flat, and enjoyable, with beautiful views the entire way. There are several parking areas along the route, so you can easily start from different points and explore it in whichever direction you prefer.
