On 28 June, Portugal finished second in Group K of the 2026 World Cup, drawing 0-0 with group leaders Colombia in the third round, and will face Croatia in the second round.
"The third group stage match for Portugal in the 2026 World Cup, which pitted the Portuguese national team against the Colombian national team, broadcast on RTP1, stood out as the most watched program on Saturday, registering an average audience of 2,437,000 viewers," states the CAEM/MediaMonitor analysis.
Compared with Portugal's third match in the 2022 Qatar World Cup, broadcast by SIC on 2 December 2022, against South Korea, this one "reached an average audience of 1,882,700 viewers, also being the most watched program of the day".
