Rather than hosting a traditional food festival, the event invites visitors to travel around the world through flavour. Each participating burger represents a different nation, with recipes inspired by the country's gastronomic traditions and favourite ingredients.
The competing countries are Portugal, the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Ireland, Germany, France and the Netherlands. Every burger has been created exclusively for the competition, giving visitors the opportunity to compare different styles and decide which deserves to be crowned this year's champion.
The concept is simple. Visitors can sample as many burgers as they like before casting their vote for their favourite. At the end of the event, the burger that receives the most public votes will take home the Portugal Burger Cup title.
Each burger is available for €12.50, allowing visitors to focus on the flavours rather than different price points.
The event is about more than just food. Throughout the ten days, guests can also enjoy live music, refreshing drinks and a relaxed outdoor atmosphere designed for families, groups of friends and anyone looking for an enjoyable summer evening. Pets are also welcome, turning it into an event where the whole family can take part.
Taking place at Parque do Ribeiro, the event combines food with live entertainment. Entry is free, and the organisers have created a family-friendly atmosphere where pets are welcome too.
Visitors can stop by from 5.30pm each day, with the event running until midnight from Sunday to Thursday and until 1am on Fridays and Saturdays. Whether you decide to try just one burger or compare a few before voting is entirely up to you.
