The results from the National Statistics Institute (INE) Tourism Satellite Account state that“it is estimated that, in 2025, tourism consumption made a total contribution (direct and indirect) of 11.8% (€36.2 billion) to GDP and 11.4% (€30.4 billion) to the national economy’s GVA [Gross Value Added].”

Compared to 2024, tourism’s total GDP and GVA increased by 5.3% and 5.5%, respectively, in nominal terms.

Although tourism’s contribution to real GDP growth remains positive, the INE notes that it “has been declining”: after accounting for 3.6 percentage points of the 7.0% change in GDP volume in 2022 and 1.2 percentage points of the 3.1% growth in 2023, this contribution fell to 0.4 percentage points in 2024 and 0.3 percentage points in 2025, years in which GDP grew by 2.2% and 1.9%, respectively.
