In addition to bringing together "the best of the Ria Formosa's gastronomy," the festival also has an excellent musical lineup and "several new features that promise to make the visitor experience even more comfortable and complete."

The inauguration takes place on 10 August at 7:30 pm and will be attended by the President of the Assembly of the Republic, José Aguiar Branco, the municipality announced in a press release.

Musical entertainment

The program is diverse and appeals to all age groups, encompassing various musical styles, with foreign and national artists. On the first day, Matias Damásio takes the stage, bringing Angolan rhythms to the Festival do Marisco. On 11 August, the Portuguese rapper Deejay Telio will perform, which may attract a younger audience. The rhythm heats up on 12 August with the presence of Némanus, bringing some popularity and some African rhythms to the Algarve festival. Still representing Africa, but with natives of São Tomé and Príncipe, the successful duo Calema takes the stage on 13 August, promising not only to bring a large crowd to the festival, as is customary in other shows, but also a lot of fun. Connected to Portuguese roots, fado singer Mariza will perform on 14 August, followed by Brazilian Daniela Mercury, who closes the festival shows on 15 August.

New features this year

The Festival do Marisco de Olhão has thought of ways to improve the visitor experience and has created "a new space dedicated to the sale of seafood, allowing for reduced waiting times and greater fluidity in service."

Regarding food, in addition to the usual seafood, burgers, and pizzas, the Poke Market will debut at the Festival do Marisco in 2026, expanding "the diversity of the gastronomic offer available." For lovers of local sweets, they can also head to the Kubidoce pastry shop, which "will present some of its specialities inspired by the tradition and identity of the municipality, such as the floripes and the moncarapachense."

As part of a modernisation strategy, those attending the festival will also be able to receive a wristband with a QR code, which will be distributed on beaches and at strategic points, where they can access a WhatsApp community, where useful information about the event will be shared. In this community, it will be possible to access information about "parking, access, entrances, location of food courts and other practical information."

Tickets for the 38th edition of the Olhão Festival do Marisco are on sale at Ticketline, at the usual points of sale and at the entrance to the venue.
