As part of the anniversary celebration of the first Shrek film and the first Harry Potter film, both films will return to Portuguese cinemas.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher 's Stone

Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the first film in the Harry Potter saga, is based on the books by J. K. Rowling. The film will be in cinemas from 27 August and will only be available for one week. The special screening also includes 12 extra minutes of behind-the-scenes footage, revealing a little more of the magical world of Harry Potter.

In total, there are eight films in the Harry Potter saga, based on the seven books by J. K. Rowling. It was also recently announced that the HBO series, based on the same books, will premiere at the end of 2026.

Shrek

As for Shrek, the wait will have to be longer, as the film only returns to theatres on 10 September. The film will allow you to return to the swamp most beloved by the public, as well as relive the moment when Shrek and Donkey meet, and how the famous love story between Shrek and Fiona begins. The film should be shown in the Portuguese version, as the Portuguese public greatly appreciates the Portuguese cast, which includes José Jorge Duarte as Shrek, Cláudia Cadima as Fiona, and Rui Paulo as Donkey.

The Shrek film, in addition to winning millions of fans worldwide, won an Oscar and spawned spin-offs such as the films and series "Puss in Boots" and four films in the Shrek saga. The fifth film in the Shrek saga is also scheduled to premiere in 2027.
