“Due to intense rain showers early in the morning that left debris and water accumulation in the areas around the runway, Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport decided, as a precaution, to temporarily limit capacity until cleaning and water drainage are completed”, explained the airport manager.
In the response sent to the Lusa agency, ANA says that “the cleaning was completed at 12pm, having caused seven flights to divert [to other airports], eight cancellations and some delays in the operation”.
ANA Airports states that “the airport has always remained operational, carrying out arrivals and departures, and at this moment [at 12:30 pm] it is already recovering its full capacity”.
