They fill with people of all nationalities, restaurant terraces get busy, and there is something happening almost everywhere you turn.
Alvor is well known for its “bar street”, a typical place for a night out, with bars, music and a lively atmosphere until late. But what I like about Alvor is that it is not only about nightlife.
Just a few streets away, the atmosphere can be completely different. There are quieter areas with family-friendly restaurants and cafés, plenty of little souvenir shops, and places where you can simply sit outside and enjoy the evening. You will also find live music and karaoke in different spots around the town.

Alvor is very popular with families, and you see plenty of children out in the evenings too. You can have dinner, walk through the little streets, stop for an ice cream, or head down towards the waterfront.
This mix is what makes Alvor so enjoyable in summer. It can be lively and busy, but at the same time you can always find a quieter street just around the corner.
