Motorcyclists from Portugal and beyond can participate in the Blessing of Helmets ceremony at the Sanctuary of Fatima on 20 September.

The 11th Pilgrimage of the Blessing of Helmets takes place at the Sanctuary of Fatima, in celebrations presided over by the Patriarch of Lisbon, Dom Rui Valério. For the first time, similar celebrations will be held in the Azores and Madeira on the same day.


In 2025, approximately 180,000 motorcyclists were present at the Prayer Area, a number similar to that recorded in 2024.

The Sanctuary of Fatima also reveals that, in 2025, approximately 180,000 motorcyclists were present at the Prayer Area. Even so, the Sanctuary of Fatima will always have room to welcome more and more, with the rector of the Sanctuary of Fatima, Father Carlos Cabecinhas, inviting motorcyclists to experience the moment of encounter and prayer. The rector also reportedly remembered all those who lose their lives on the roads, asking for "prudence so that everyone arrives in Fatima and returns home safely."
